We Energies Supply Chain recognizes WESCO Distribution, Inc.
On Tuesday, March 24th, WESCO was presented with the We Energies STAR Award of Excellence. We Energies Supply Chain presented Star Awards of Excellence to 11 suppliers who helped the company achieve improvements in customer satisfaction, cost reduction, safety, innovation, and supplier and work force diversity in 2008. The awards were presented March 24 at a special reception in Pewaukee.
WESCO Distribution, Inc., was recognized for helping identify valuable process improvements to the manner in which We Energies was able to execute major project work in Customer Operations. WESCO facilitated two lean events – an approach that businesses use to create goods and services with less human effort, space, capital and time than through traditional business approaches.
“Two of WESCO’s lean experts helped us take a close look at the major projects area because of the large amount of resources we dedicate to electric reliability. This resulted in more than 45 recommendations for process improvements that are expected to reduce costs,” Gail DeVeau, Director of Supply Chain at We Energies, said.
RESULTS: Identified 53 improvements including 11 High Impact-Low Effort projects
